Planting for the Future: 450 Trees During Lockdown

Building on our long-standing commitment to sustainability, OMS partnered with the Woodland Trust, the UK’s largest woodland conservation charity, to plant a further 450 trees.

This time, the focus was on broad-leaved, long-lived species – carefully chosen to support carbon capture and biodiversity for generations to come.

The project was intended to be a collaborative community effort, but the Covid-19 pandemic had other plans. During lockdown, when many were confined to their homes, three members of our community – Daniel Ardizzone, Judith Walker and Gary Grewar – took on the enormous task themselves.

Over a short period, they planted every tree by hand, ensuring the project went ahead despite the challenges.

Their dedication reflects the values at the heart of Forest Farm: care for the environment, commitment to action, and belief in doing what matters – even when it’s difficult.
